What They Can’t Tell You Helps Fight Cancer: Unlocking Nature’s Secret: The Remarkable Healing Power of Mushrooms

When I started my journey down my natural rabbit hole, I specifically focused on the health benefits of food. I love to cook and bake! Therefore I know how easy it is to add simple little ingredients here and there to get great flavor and great health boosts! Example: I add ginger to everything I cook! Mushrooms are a true healer from nature! I will dive deeper into that below.

When my bonus dad was told he had cancer, I dove into natural healers! MUSHROOMS were the NUMBER ONE thing I read about the most. It is what popped up the most! Now legally, those providers can not make claims about how they cure cancer because there is no guarantees! Everyone is different, but you can do research on social platforms and reviews and see where people are saying it cured them of cancer! The company, like I said, can not make claims for legal sakes of their products curing cancer.

Why Mushrooms?

Mushrooms have been a part of traditional medicine for centuries, valued for their dense nutritional profile and medicinal properties. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and bioactive compounds that can boost the immune system, fight inflammation, and even protect against certain diseases (like cancer).

Spotlight on Chaga: The King of Mushrooms
Among these, the Chaga mushroom stands out. Often called the “King of Mushrooms,” Chaga is revered for its high antioxidant content and potential to support immune health. Native to colder climates, this mushroom has been used in folk medicine to address various health issues, from boosting immunity to combating inflammation. It is the number one recommended mushroom for fighting “certain” diseases!

List of Beneficial Mushrooms and Their Properties

1. Reishi: Known for its stress-reducing and immune-boosting properties.
2. Shiitake: Rich in nutrients, supports heart health, and enhances immunity.
3. Lion’s Mane: Promotes brain health and cognitive function.

The Science Behind the Healing: What Research Says
Numerous studies validate the health benefits of mushrooms. For instance, research on Chaga has shown its potential in boosting immune health and reducing inflammation. Similarly, Lion’s Mane has garnered attention for its neuroprotective properties, offering hope in neurodegenerative diseases. My favorite person to learn from is @TheFarmacy on TikTok! She shares such amazing recipes and information! Give her a follow!

Incorporating Mushrooms into Your Diet: Practical Tips
Adding mushrooms to your diet is simple. They can be included in soups, stir-fries, or even as tea. For those less common like Chaga, supplements and extracts are available, offering an easy way to integrate their benefits into your daily routine.

List of Simple Mushroom-Based Recipes
1. Chaga Tea: A simple, soothing way to enjoy Chaga.
2. Shiitake Stir-Fry: Quick and nutritious.
3. Reishi Mushroom Soup: A comforting and immune-boosting dish.
4. Lion’s Mane Pasta Sauce: A brain-boosting addition to your favorite pasta.

Precautions and Best Practices
While mushrooms offer numerous health benefits, it’s important to source them responsibly. Some, like Chaga, need to be harvested sustainably. Also, be mindful of allergies and potential interactions with medications when incorporating medicinal mushrooms into your diet.

Through my dad’s cancer journey, mushrooms have emerged not only as a symbol of nature’s healing power but also as a practical component of daily wellness. Whether it’s the antioxidant-rich Chaga or the cognitive-enhancing Lion’s Mane, these fungi offer a treasure trove of health benefits waiting to be explored and embraced.

Natural Cough Drop Recipe: Safe for all Ages

Did you know that earlier this year the FDA came out and ruled out almost 70% of all cold, flu, and cough medications? Most of our medications are just placebos. They put enough active ingredients in our medications to make us notice a slight difference so we keep taking said medication but it actually isn’t doing anything to help us at all. Another tactic big pharma uses to get us to spend money and ingest unnecessary ingredients.

This startling revelation by the FDA has left many of us, especially parents, in a dilemma. When over-the-counter medications are no longer reliable or deemed safe, what alternatives do we have for treating common, constant issues like coughs and colds? The answer is natural medications! Our ancestors lived longer than us and were never sick. They didn’t always have pharmacies around.

Natural cough drops are great for any age and safe for any age. Now obviously don't give them to children who don’t understand the concept of cough drops therefore causing a choking hazard. But there are no safety hazards ingredient-wise for this recipe. Here’s how you can make your own natural cough drops at home, ensuring that your family gets a remedy that’s both safe and effective.

Ingredients and Their Benefits

  1. Honey: A natural cough suppressant, honey has antibacterial properties and can soothe a sore throat.
    2. Ginger: Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, ginger can help in relieving congestion and soothing an irritated throat.
    3. Lemon Juice: High in Vitamin C, lemon juice boosts the immune system and has natural antiviral and antibacterial properties.
    4. Herbs (like mint or thyme): These herbs act as natural expectorants, helping to loosen mucus and ease congestion.
    5. Cinnamon or Cloves: Both spices are known for their antimicrobial properties and add flavor to the cough drops.

Recipe for Homemade Natural Cough Drops

1. Preparation:
— In a saucepan, combine one cup of honey, a tablespoon of freshly grated ginger, the juice of one lemon, and a teaspoon of your chosen herb (mint or thyme).
— If desired, add a half teaspoon of cinnamon or a few cloves for extra flavor and benefits.

2. Cooking the Mixture:
— Heat the mixture over medium heat and bring it to a boil. Use the candy thermometer to monitor the temperature.
— Keep stirring the mixture until it reaches 300°F (the hard-crack stage). This process might take about 20 minutes.

3. Setting the Cough Drops:
— Once the mixture reaches the right temperature, carefully pour it into silicone candy molds or onto a parchment paper-lined tray.
— If using a tray, score the mixture with a knife to create a grid, making it easier to break into small pieces once cooled.

4. Cooling and Storage:
— Allow the cough drops to cool completely. If you used a tray, break the hardened mixture along the scored lines.
— Store the cough drops in an airtight container. They can be kept at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
