Cinnamon, a spice that has been cherished for its medicinal properties since ancient times, is more than just a flavor enhancer. It’s packed with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, making it an ideal remedy for soothing sore throats and reducing infection.

Ingredients:
- 1 cinnamon stick (or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
- 1 cup of milk (you can use any form of milk you prefer) or water if you prefer
- Honey (to taste)
- Lemon juice (optional, for an extra vitamin C boost)

Equipment:
- Teapot or saucepan
- Mug
- Strainer (if using ground cinnamon)

  1. Add all ingredients to your saucepan and stir on low till hot but not boiling. You don’t want to boil your milk.
  2. If you used ground cinnamon and are not a fan of the clumps, use your strainer to strain your tea, removing those clumps
  3. If you used water then you can steep the tea. Allow the cinnamon to steep in the boiling water for about 10 minutes. The longer it steeps, the stronger the flavor and medicinal properties.
  4. Enjoy and feel better!

Benefits of Cinnamon Tea for Sore Throats:

  • Anti-inflammatory: Cinnamon helps reduce swelling and inflammation, providing relief from the pain and irritation of a sore throat.
  • Antibacterial: The spice’s antibacterial properties can help fight the bacteria that may be contributing to your sore throat.
  • Warmth and Comfort: The warmth of the tea helps soothe the throat and provides a comforting feeling.

- Ensure the tea is warm but not too hot to avoid aggravating your sore throat.
- Consistency is key. Enjoy a cup of cinnamon tea 2–3 times a day for maximum benefit.
